When we support someone’s livelihood, we protect an entire family’s dignity
We aim to raise $2,000 within 3 weeks to build a small roadside shop space, buy the first round of groceries, and provide simple furniture and signboard. This single shop will help feed and educate Selim’s three children and cover their household expenses sustainably.
Selim, a 42-year-old father of three, was the only earner for his family in a small rural market. Last month, he suffered a severe road accident on his way to work and lost part of his right leg. Now permanently disabled and unable to work as a day laborer, Selim’s family has no stable income and is struggling daily to afford food, rent, and school expenses for their children.
This project aims to help Selim’s family recover financially by setting up a small grocery shop attached to their home. This will create an income source that Selim can manage while seated, allowing him to earn and rebuild his family’s livelihood with dignity.
I have spoken with local suppliers who agreed to provide initial stock at wholesale rates. Our plan is to raise enough funds to build a small shop front, purchase starting inventory, and cover basic setup costs. I will oversee the purchases, work with local volunteers to help Selim set up the shop, and monitor its progress to ensure it runs smoothly.
I am reaching out to our community members to donate any amount — small or big — to make this possible. We also need 3–4 volunteers to help set up the shop shelves, transport goods, and help Selim learn basic record-keeping for running his store.
